Review: ACDESS 8 Photo Editor

ACDSee 8 PHOTO MANAGER is another strong photo sharing software program. Along with superior photo management capabilities, it includes a number of tools to help you share your photos by email and cellphone.

You can use the E-mail Image Sharing Wizard to send images directly from ACDSee 8 without having to open an external email application. You can also use Outlook™, Outlook Express™, Mozilla Thunderbird™, or Eudora™.

In addition to sending individual photos via email, using the HTML Album tool you can turn your photos into a web page along with thumbnail previews and view controls. The improved HTML Album feature has new Page layout controls with better mouse-over tips. You can select titles, subtitles and home page URLs, as well as font sizes, styles and background colors. You can also:

• Choose the number of photos per page
• Select thumbnail size and format
• Add captions, notes, and dates
• Customize your page headers and footers

You can also make slide shows and screensavers using the Create Slide Show Wizard. You can control the look of your Web presentations by setting the delay interval for photos in your Web slide shows, choose from 12 unique transition effects, customize background colors and image sizes, add an optional play bar and auto-repeat.

Another nice feature is that ACDSee allows you to share your photos online without having to have your own web site. Using ACDSee's SendPix feature you can create your own photo albums and upload them to ACDSee's secure server. They will be stored there for 30 days, and you simply email your friends a link and they can access your photos.
