Photo 3
While StudioLine Photo 3 has very good editing tools,
its organizing and archiving capabilities are especially
strong. When organizing your images, you create folders in
a hierarchy similar to Windows™, but you are not limited
to the original image folders on your hard drive. StudioLine
Photo 3 has many options for keywords, captions and notes.
By adding meaningful descriptions to your images, you can
use StudioLine's powerful search engine to sort and find specific
images. You can create short cuts to an image, which enables
you to have the same images listed under several different
archive folders. For example a family photo from last Christmas
in Vermont could be found under "Christmas 2003,"
"Vermont" and "grandparents."
The
new features in this upgrade from StudioLine Photo 2 include:
- New Customizable User Interface - Offers
ability to resize, move, dock or hide panes
- XML Format for Exchanging Data with Other
Applications - export metadata in XML format to simplyfy
the exchange of image descriptors with other applications
- Backup Reminders - A new backup assistant
can remind you in regular intervals (that you can specify)
to backup your images and launch the appropriate backup
task.
- Expanded Database Search by Time Spans
- intuitive controls can restrict the search to a certain
time.
- Search and Replace - helpful for correcting
spelling mistakes or
to standardize similar keywords.
Other features include special Export and
Email Filters, Web-Gallery Design Wizard, ability to load
and manage media audio and video files recorded by your digital
camera, and Transition Effects for Slide Shows
With StudioLine Photo 3 you can create a
web photo album for a website using the slide show generator
or web photo gallery generator. You can also easily archive
your images by burning to CD or DVD and e-mail them with control
over the default image format and size.
If you have a lot
of photos on your hard drive, StudioLine
3 is a very good program to get you organized. Rating:
